Detailed job description
- Responding to daily chores and Station Officer commands
- Employee attendance at work
- Vehicle and equipment testing and inspection
- Equipment and vehicle cleaning
- Any faults must be reported to the officer on duty.
- Assist in firefighting by reacting to events with senior employees.
- Observing command on the set
- Fighting grass and wild land fires, as well as structure fires
- Defending property and fire equipment from flames
- Attending to control room responsibilities as needed
- Any other responsibilities assigned to him or her by his or her superior
Minimum specifications
- Grades 10 – 12 or equivalent N3 will be advantageous.
- First aid level 1 will be advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s License (will be an added advantage)
- Medical and physical fitness to perform operational responsibilities
- Swimming ability is required.
- Candidates should not have any phobias, such as claustrophobia or acrophobia.
- Experience or expertise of fire and rescue will be advantageous.
- A hardworking and self-disciplined individual

SHOULD THEY BE RECOMMENDED FOR THE INTERNSHIP, CANDIDATES WHO MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIED TIME-FRAME TO ACQUIRE AND STATISFY THE ADVERTAGEOUS REQUIREMENTS ITO GRADE 12/N3 AND DRIVER’S LICENSE SPECIFIED IN THE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT.
